One of several boxes that are filled with alphabet blocks. These are always available at thrift stores and swap meets. New ones, old ones and every now and then some very interesting vintage ones. 
Like the brown ones, above right, that are quite thin. I have over a dozen of these and plan to someday adorn the front of a journal or altered book with them.
