The solitude was wonderful here. Lovely stretches of green, beautiful old trees wearing their fall plumage, serene ponds and winding paths through the grave sites.

As always in the older burial grounds, very poignant to see so many small tombstones with children's names, or just "baby" engraved thereon.

Truly a place to rest in peace.
I read somewhere that in many cases when a baby dies, they don't receive a name because the parents don't want to a waste a good name on a dead baby... sad, isn't it?.. but that has nothing to do with this great post.

Love your saturday posts. I finally got up to the little one near my house, it was small, simple, and peaceful. And I felt the tinge of seeing the baby ones too. I am also interested that some were completed with the name and birth but not the final date. NOW that is an organizer and planner. I thought that was a good idea for the family to be all done. Interesting.
