As many of you know, my wife Margot is the founder of

Sassy Feet.  She teaches people how to paint, and

 embellish their shoes.  There's a book, an online store,

 a blog, a website, on-line classes and in-person 

workshops.  Since these shoes were all for me I 

decided to steal this post from Margot's blog and

 let you see what a lucky girl I am!!

Everytime I wear a pair of these I get loads 

of compliments - colour, distressed - what's not to love?

Decayed Despair

These are shots that I took from the ferry across San Francisco Bay last week as we passed Alcatraz Island.
I've never had any desire to take the tour and actually visit the island, I would imagine it would be awash in feelings of despair and hopelessness.

That said, I did capture these views of some of the
decaying buildings and rusty metal.

Even from across the water, there seemed an air of
old unhappiness and gloom.

Gotta Love It!

Yesterday morning I stopped on the way to work at a $2.00 self car wash. On the way out I noticed this wall - and, of course - I had to stop and take pictures.

Isn't it wonderfully distressed? Delightfully peeling?

What a great way to start the day - a clean Miata and a fantastic fence!
