Journal Time

 A few of the latest pages from my current 

daily journal - Steampunk Postal Boys.

Have really been having fun combining

 a themed journal with my daily jottings.

And since the theme loosely concerns post office and mail offerings,

.it's giving me a chance to use lots of vintage

 stamps and postage paraphernalia ...

... envelopes inside of envelopes and lots of chances 

for faux addresses and postal markings.

Envelopes with maps, glassine  envelopes that 

I've stamped on and filled with old photos and journal jottings.

Having a lot of fun with this one - can't you tell?

The art table is crowded with supplies and ephemera 

not only for my current daily journal...

...but for the lastest altered book also.

A time when I could use a bit more table top!

It's a good thing I like to clean up as I go along 

or this could be a disaster in the making! 

I'll keep you posted about the progress on both pieces!

Starting on the Cover

Working on the cover...

 Adding gears, compass dials,

and an interesting button I unearthed a few days ago.

Might add a few more touches before it's done.

work on in the coming week or so.

Having fun adding ephemera, adding my daily thoughts,

and advancing the story of the Steampunk Postal Boys/

Had a good tme yesterday creating this bookmark for the journal, 

using Tim Holtz Distress inks, stains, rub-ons and rubber stamps.

In with the New

 The substrata for this journal is an old ledger

 (an eBay find, several years ago).

I plan to go with a combination 

theme of steampunk and vintage mail ephemera.

Busy gathering supplies, embellishments,

 decorative paper and various bits and bobs 

that will work with the theme.

I was thinking I might end up working in a smaller book this time

 but as usual it's almost just as big, not as thick but  taller than the last one.

Can't wait to get started!!

Out with the Old...

I've been working in this journal since last August

 and will finished it up in the next day or two.

Here are a few of my favourite spreads from it.

I had a lot of fun with this one - big enough to 

do some large work which was different for me.

On Wednesday a preview of the 

new journal as I prepare it for daily use.

Still Hunting and Gathering

Still going through my stash to find
 goodies for the latest project.

I've got it all sitting on the studio table, marinating away!

Had a four day hospital stay that slowed me down a bit, 

but feeling better and ready to get going on this new artwork.

Here are some pages from my daily journal where I used some of the techniques I've been learning while working on the tags over the last few months.

It's been fun incorporating them onto pages.

And trying different combinations of stamps and colours.
