Bathroom Decor!

My friend Destiny asked if I could make a couple of  stenciled spray paint panels to go in her bathroom.
She wanted rays (from Stencil Girl),  punchinella chevrons and blues and yellows.

Here's what I came up with and she was pleased!

Had fun over the weekend playing

 with stencils and spray paint.

and Liquitex Spray Paints.

More Background Fun!

 More fun creating backgrounds, this time

using Tim Holtz Distress paints and inks.

 I love the way this Distress paint reacts to water spray!

 I used a variety of rubber stamps from 

Tim's collections and also Michelle Ward.

And stencils from Tim's Layering Stencils and

 two of my all time favourite
 Mary Beth Shaw stencils- gears and web.

A lot of fun experimenting and seeing what the results were!

Spray Time!

Went down to the garage the other morning,

 put up the cardboard spray station,

  put on the mask, got out the stencils,

and  had me some fun.

 Using 11x14" canvas panels as the base,

 I layered and layered and layered some more.

And here's what I got!

I was very tickled with the colour combinations

 and the way some patterns peeked

 through the colours on top of them.

I'm thinking these will be covers for hand-made sketch journals.

Stencil Fun

Back in the garage, using my newly erected stencil station and Liquitex Spray Paints.  A new find at my local Michael's.  These are fantastic.  Since they're from Liquitex they come in actual paint colours - not patio furniture colours. 

And they're Acrylic - so clean up is sooo much easier.  But best of all -  NO SMELL!  Yup, you heard me - absolutely no smell.  I love it!

I played around with them, using some stencils from Michelle Ward and Stencil Girl, and amassed a new stack of journal pages.

Stencil Love

Ever since I took Mary Ann Moss's Stencilry class I have been enamored with stencils (haven't we all?), but even though I've watched her videos (which are wonderful) about cutting them over and over I think this might be one of those talents, like sewing and down-hill skiing, that I just don't have. Luckily for me there are a myriad of wonderful stencils out there. And here are a few of my favourites.

More Stenciling Fun

Have spent the summer slowly working my way through Mary Ann Moss's wonderful Stencilry on-line class. Over the weekend I spent an afternoon with cans of paint and a variety of stencils and had a blast coming up with these beauties.



The idea of doing it on these old sea charts happened when I need a piece of large paper to lay down over wet paint - a huge roll of the charts was by my table I just grabbed one and used it and-AHA! suddenly saw the possibilities.

I think they look pretty cool.
