9 Years of Happiness and Love

Nine Years ago today my beautiful wife Margot and I, surrounded by friends and family, took our vows and started an amazing life together.  Four years after that, we did it again and were legally married during California's 5 month window before Prop 8 passed.  We are incredibly happy and in all that time our love and happiness has not demeaned or spoiled anyone's heterosexual marriage.  Love only begats love -  and what can be wrong with that?

8 Glorious Years!

Tomorrow will be our 8th anniversary.  We were married by the sea just up the coast in Cayucos, surrounded by friends and well-wishers. We had a lovely reception which included the sinfully delicious flourless chocolate cake above.  The cake was so heavy the bakers couldn't stack the layers, so they just spread them out all over the table.  Would I do it all over again?  In a heartbeat!  Thank you Margot for bringing such love, happiness and peace to my life.

Seven years ago today Margot and I had our first wedding ( the legal one was three years ago this June). It has been exciting, joyful, fun, amazing, peaceful, surprising, contented, full of love and seven of the happiest years of my life. And when the federal government finally catches up to reality, we'll be able to have a third wedding!

Hubby Hubby

I'm not usually a commercial hack - but this is too good to let pass by. Ben & Jerry have renamed their "Chubby Hubby" flavour - "Hubby Hubby" to commemorate the fact that Vermont is now allowing same-sex couples to marry. New England is really leading the way - with four out of six states. Congrats to couples in Vermont who can finally tie the knot and thanks to Ben & Jerry for this very public and wonderful endorsement. We can only hope that at some point in the future, the 45 states that don't currently allow gays and lesbians to marry, will realize that legislating against love is a really dumb idea (to say nothing of a violation of civil rights.)
