From the Bookshelf
I picked this up on my trip to Powell's. I had heard a lot about it and was eager to see what it had to offer. I love Elsebeth and Christine's commentary, the ideas and techniques (though limited) are quite good and useful, but the artwork itself is not up to the written portions of the book. The authors have confined themselves to arranging ephemera on a background, which certainly has its place in collage, but is just one small part of what can be done. That said, I do feel it is valuable for the lists and suggestions of where to acquire materials, tools, types of paint etc. For those just getting started I think this would be an ideal beginning volume with the plan to move on to other, more advanced books later.

I always love to read comments about books that could be useful to bloggers. Are the materials listed generally available, or do you thin this would not prove useful to a UK reader?
