At 630 feet, it's the second highest fall in the nation (only Yosemite Falls is higher.) The concrete bridge replaced the original log structure.
Margot got this shot of me contemplating - interestingly enough, the only time during our Portland visit that I had to don my raincoat!
The falls have been a tourist spot since the turn of the last century, during the '30's a special train brought visitors out from the city. The famous bridge is a very popular spot for weddings.
The bridge may be a bit too awesome for me...standing in front of and over the tumbling water but what a rush it must be. Glad you didn't miss it.
