Mixed Up Mona

This is a page from a previous journal, using a wonderful technique I learned from Angela Cartwright two years ago at Art and Soul in Portland. Cut up a picture, either mix up the pieces or just have a bit of space in-between. Peel the backing from a full page label and arrange your pieces on the sticky side. Sprinkle embossing powder on the exposed label between the picture pieces, tap excess powder off. Using a heat gun set the powder, keep the gun moving. If using a photograph take care not to overheat it. The result is a mosaic/ stained glass effect that is quite delightful. More detailed instructions can be found in Angela's book Mixed Emulsions.
