Marylinn - Always - she made most all our clothes, as well as knitting sweaters for us too. A very talented lady. She tried for several years to teach me to sew - but finally gave up, saying "Don't worry honey, you have lots of other talents!" I think we were both relieved when the sewing lessons came to an end! Happy Easter! Erin
Easter photos, with one exception, had me in a Mom-made dress. At around 13 or 14 I got an actual store-bought suit, a nice one with a straight skirt AND a pleated skirt. I wore it for years, especially to my first vacation work at the Huntington Library. I would have loved hand-knitted cardigans. What we got instead was fabulous Halloween costumes. xo
We are all artists--so when creativity calls, be sure to answer!
Growing up in Azusa, California, my kindergarten teacher gave me an "unsatisfactory" in
Cut&Paste, and I believed her for 50 years. Now I am a mixed media artist and work in a library.
Love that picture!!! (of you)
ReplyDeletebobbie - As you can see - into fashion right from the start!

Happy Easter. Was yours a Mom-made dress? Mine often were. xo
