From the Bookshelf

This fascinating volume by Tom Phillips is considered by many to be the "first altered book". Mr. Phillips found a Victorian novel called "The Human Monument" in a second-hand shop and spent years and years altering it. Drawings and paintings cover the pages and an entire story emerges as he blocks out words. The few words per page that are left tell the story. A must for all of us that indulge in book alteration.
