This is a memorial at the Radegoszcz train station near Lodz, Poland. Hundreds of thousands of Jews were put on box cars here and transported to the various concentration camps. The memorial is made to look like tombstones and each one bears the name of one of the camps.

  2. Amanda - I came across these when I was doing research for my "The Pity of War" show. Hard to look at, but so important to never forget.

  3. Erin, that research could break a person's heart in two. I admire that kind of persistence. It has paid off in the work you've done. Thanks for sharing these photos, as I would likely never see this otherwise.

  4. Chris - The research and creating was heart-breaking at times, but a heart broken open can hold more than one would ever imagine.
