What's Your Sign - East Bay

One of the fun things about visiting cities is all the wonderful vintage neon.

I added these shots to my collection on our trip up to Berkeley last weekend.

Margot spotted this one in nearby Albany and we made an immediate u-turn to go back and get the picture. How could you not love the Hotsy Totsy Club? Their motto is - "Keeping Albany tipsy since 1939".

  1. Hey, your pix of these signs turned out great! And the Hotsy Totsy Club was truly a find. It was on a mortuary-black little building with a old, battered and reinforced green front door. It must take a lot of punishment from prospective patrons trying to get in during its off hours....

  6. Stephanie - I found out they have a website and even sell t-shirts with the Hotsy-Totsy sign on them - white with the daytime sign look and black with the neon lit up!

  7. They conduct neon tours in Los Angeles, some vintage, some newer but no, I'm quite sure, Hotsy Totsy Club. What a find. xo
