Watercolours - HRH Prince Charles

This is a delightful book. Full of watercolour sketches, accompanied by charming text. The writing is so evocative of this quiet, unassuming heir to the throne. Prince Charles follows a long tradition, most notably, his great great great grandmother Victoria, who kept a sketchbook all her life. His descriptions of the countryside; in England, Italy, and France, set the stage for the paintings, which then pull us into the landscapes of these beautiful places . The Prince is not a great artist nor a great writer - but those of us who "dabble" with paint and brush, will recognize a kindred spirit. We too have hurried to capture that special light before the sunset, have continued on after the rain has begun, and have arisen stiff and sore after losing track of time while lost in our watercolour world. A definite treat in front of the fire on one of the upcoming autumnal evenings
