Cemetery Saturday

These lovely pictures were shot by my daughter Jenny
several months ago.

She took her camera and spent some time at the cemetery
in San Luis Obispo.

You can see by these last two shots that she's her mother's daughter.

The distressed, the broken, the aged and worn.

  1. These are great photos. Your daughter has a good eye for elements. I love the last two and what you have put with the photos. It is fun to see what we have in common with our children as they grow into the adults they will be. And I like what you both capture with your art. To me it captures life as it is and how we all relate to being broken, aged and worn at times. And also I have to say that my Saturday mornings are coffee and coming to your blog for Cemetery Saturdays more fun then the morning paper.

  2. Amanda - Thanks - what I've loved about doing the cemetery series is how calm, peaceful and thought-provoking I have found the graveyards to be. Not spooky or scary - just places of deep, abiding peace. I will pass on your kind comments to my daughter.

  3. Jenny - I thought you might recognize these! Thank you for your permission to use them. It's fun to have some photos from a real photographer on my site.
